The data migration to SQL Azure has been completed and the sipsorcery.com web site is now available. The migration went very smoothly but if anyone notices any issues please post on the Forums. The MySQL database has been switched off, although it will be left in situ for the time being, and the sipsorcery.com service is now running between the Amazon EC2 and Microsoft Azure clouds.

sipsorcery.com seem to went down shortly after migration and is not available for about 2 hours as of 1pm EST Thu, 01/14.
What’s going on?

The outage was unrelated to the migration. It was over 36 hours later and it was the same old problem of the Amazon EC2 instance becoming inaccessible for no obvious reason.

The primary server went down but connection through sipsorcery.com does not automatically redirect to the second server.
Placing the ip address of the second server (174.129.234.254) directly into the server setting on my ATA (PAP2T) got me back online.

I will be posting some more information about how SIP clients need to be configured to operate fault tolerantly with both servers. Suffice to say it’s not DNS A records that are used it’s SRV records. If your ATA supported them you would have automatically moved from the failed to the new server since I happened to add the SRV records for it about 5 hours before the outage.

Yes, it would be great if you could post some info on how to configure SRV records in ATA.
Lately I also started having huge delays in voice transmission on my GV + SIPGate + SIPSorcery + ATA – home VoIP phone. Also frequently people on the other end complain that my voice is garbled or that there is some interruptions on the line. Any idea of what out of 3 service providers in the puzzle could have been causing it?
The problems happen when no-one uses cable internet line and I did configure my WRT54G router with QoS for ATA MAC address.
